Supporting the development

Birth to 2 Years

Our ‘Calm Waters’ room is cosy and warm. It is a space where babies can explore a wide range of objects and resources which are familiar to them. We have a separate area to provide a calming and relaxed sleep area, as well as a child friendly toilet for those babies who are starting their toilet training journeys, and separate nappy changing area to give privacy during changes.

We also have free flow access to our baby friendly outdoor garden. Our staff are nurturing and cuddly offering children comfort, support and encouragement.

2 to 3 Years

Our ‘Little pebbles’ room is perfect for children who are on the move and raring for adventure! Magically set up with a range of areas full of items of curiosity, this room is bustling most of the day, but also offers a calm area for relaxation, downtime and that much needed sleep to recharge and get back to doing what we love.

Our play area is also extended into our free flow garden, play is never stuck to one area. This room also has a private changing area and child friendly toilet facilities. Our staff are full of creativity, magic and compassion always happy to be one of your child’s biggest supporters!

3 to 5 Years

Our ‘Making Waves’ room, just like the name we are always Making waves! This room offers even more opportunities for independence and self growth. Our room is set to encourage critical thinking, social engagement and most of all FUN!

Who knew tinkering with old objects could spark so many curious minds and support so much learning? US! We are never restricted to indoors, through our double doors be exported straight to our wonderous garden. With our fire trained staff campfires are daily and hot snacks prepared on the open fire.

Sun, Wind, Rain and Snow each bring with them an abundance of opportunities and we are always ready the explore them all! Our staff are full of enthusiasm, wisdom and energy!

Forest School

Based in our dedicated Forest School site, only a short walk from the main Drumfork Nursery, we offer children aged 2-8 years a magical world of fun and adventure!

The forest is a natural multi-sensory environment, providing endless opportunities for learning, fun and development of confidence, self-esteem, and resilience. Children will experience a wealth of exciting opportunities, such as cooking on a campfire, making and using tools, climbing, den building and exploring the wonder of nature and the creatures that inhabit it!

Our highly trained Forest School staff team are enthusiastic about providing the highest quality child-led learning experience and supporting the development of imaginative little learners! Through an abundance of nature-based experiences, our staff nurture and support children to develop skills such as teamwork, risk assessment, problem solving, and perseverance.

Summer Holiday Club

Our holiday club is suitable for primary school aged children up to age 8.

Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 3pm, during the Argyll and Bute summer holiday period.

The cost of the holiday club is £40 per day Monday to Thursday and £35 on a Friday.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer funded places?

Yes, children aged 3 and over are entitled to up to 30 hours of funding per week. Eligible children aged 2 may also be entitled to funding, please get in touch with us for details.

What are your opening hours?

Nursery
Monday-Thursday 7.30am-5.30pm, Friday 7.30am-4pm

Forest School
Monday-Friday 8.30am-4pm

Holiday Club
Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-3pm

Do you offer discounts?

MOD, blue light and sibling discounts are available. Please contact us for more details.

Do you provide meals onsite?

Yes! We provide breakfast, a morning snack, 2-course lunch, and afternoon tea daily. We use the services of an early years catering company, Hungry Tums to prepare hot nutritious meals for our children's 2-course lunch meal. The remaining meals are prepared on-site in our kitchen. Forest school children also have the opportunity to enjoy food that they have helped prepare and cook on the campfire!

Delicious Meals and Snacks

We know children like to eat little and often, so depending on the times your child attends nursery, they will be offered breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch and a light tea. We also have a range of fruit available daily within the playrooms.

We know that children eat better when they are involved in preparing and cooking their own snacks. Therefore, the children are given the opportunity to help prepare and cook the food that they eat within the nursery.

Children are given age-appropriate opportunities to help set and clear the table for meals and snacks. We aim to make mealtimes about more than just filling tummies! Staff join children at the table to enjoy food while they chat and connect. As well as being a part of the nursery day that is enjoyed by all, this time provides boundless opportunities for children to develop a range of skills, such as communication, language, sharing and empathy.
